I’m heading to Chicago tomorrow afternoon to pick up some relatives flying into O’hare. They don’t get in until Sunday morning but it’s an oppertunity to get out of town. I love Chicago anyways but I hope the weather stays decent.

It’ll be a nice change of pace – too much GTA4 lately anyways.

Alright, been a busy month. First the Metal Gear Online beta, then CoD4 maps, and finally I’m working my way through GTA4. I’m at 45% thus far – will report back.

Got the Dualshock 3 last night. Finally have a PS3 controller that doesn’t feel like I could break it at any second! Good stuff, if only CoD4 would incorporate rumble into the PS3 game . . . Oh well, Metal Gear Online is two days away! Rumblage to the max.

I’ve been listening to a lot of Death Cab for Cutie’s 2001 album The Photo Album. It’s been on repeat for the better part of a month now, I think. I can’t wait for Narrow Stairs to release.

Yesterday I received a nice surprise in the mail – my preordered Metal Gear Solid 4 was supposed to come with a DVD including the entire history of the MGS games and a beta code for Metal Gear Online, which I didn’t think was coming since I preordered it via Gamestop online. I was afraid it wasn’t coming so I did fill out the web form to receive a beta invite and was lucky enough to be accepted into that – so I gave away my second code. The DVD was actually pretty neat and was more structured than I could have hoped for. The end credits also tied the game’s story into several aspects of political history. It was very cool. As extremely excited for the game as I am now, I also can’t wait until Friday when the postponed beta should hopefully start, provided their are no further obsticles.

I haven’t really written anything but music, game, and politic news in a while so here’s my effort to try to rectify that. What’s going on with me?

Well, on the 11th I went to Ames with with a couple friends to visit Craig and Hayley for a night and it was pretty packed there. Thus, of course, I came down with the flu the following Monday and I’ve been slowly getting over that since – very slowly. It’s been quite annoying.

Yesterday was an amazing day, however, and it was the best reminder this year that summer will return, and when it does, all shall be good. I’m anxious to start some summer classes and get them done with so I can get into my program for school next year.

But as for spring, what’s keeping me occupied? When it’s not raining and I’m not sick then biking. I got a new bike last year and I’m pretty excited for summer to get here. We’ve got a new camera I can pop in my pocket and I’m pretty pumped to just ride of and take some shots.

Also, towards the end of May we’re finally going to be heading to Memphis and/or Nashville for the postponed trip we were going to take during spring break. I can’t wait for that. Other vacationing plans for the rest of summer? Concerts hopefully, followed by a family trip to, as far as I know at this point, either South Dakota or Wisconsin for some fishing/camping. Fun stuff. I mean, I would prefer to go to Florida again, especially where we’ve stayed the past couple years, but I think we’re going to take a break from that this year.

At first I wasn’t a big fan of the change, but it’s definitely growing on me. I haven’t actually “roughed it” for a while, since we went on our fishing trip in Canada when I was in middle school, and that was a blast. We used to pack up tents and take off all the time to either to a camp ground or our cabin and I do miss it. I just need to find a bike rack at this point.

Anyways, it’s 5:30 in the morning and my dogs are crying like mad to be let out so I guess I’ll leave it at this. I can’t wait summer.

Welcome to my personal section of the internet. My name is Lucas and I am a twenty year old student from Iowa. In my spare time I do web design and consultation and also founded and write for Postblink, a blog consisting of the opinions of four friends on anything from the latest in entertainment to politics. And on some days, those things are one in the same.

For a couple years Postblink had been my personal blog, but after a while I decided to get some more diverse opinions and thoughts going to the front page and as a result it’s becoming a great opinion blog but less of my own thing. Thus the need for this little corner of the web, somewhere I can post more personally. You might see cross-posts from here on Postblink if I feel it like doing so, but most of what I write about on here will pertain to events effecting me directly or personal reflections.
